  1. I don't see any other blogs for 2016. I suppose it was a sleepy year for all you sailors....

I recently joined the SS Association this summer, and I also found an SS boat to restore (#137). I hope to be sailing it and racing it next year with all of the other SS boat owners. I just love this boat, because it is so special to be out sailing on the Long Island bays, quietly skimming through the water on a beautiful sunny day, viewing the shoreline of both wilderness, and big old houses. The wetlands and beach are so beautiful to me because I grew up in Quogue on Pennemans' Creek during the summers. As a native, I consider these bays to be very special, and to be sailing an SS is just heaven for me.

Today, (Oct. 18, 2016) I was lucky to be able to go sailing with Rob Dudley in his SS. It was a perfect sailing day - warm weather, light breezes, no white-caps. This is the absolutely perfect time of year. For all you sailors who already put your boat away, I hope your jealous!
Be well everyone, and happy sailing next year. I hope to see more posts here for 2017.
